GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR INCINERATORS

lnsulation: lnsulation to be used for masonry, reinforced concrete, or non-combustible substance shall prevent damage to the base from excessive heat and shall be of a depth to limit the outer casing into a maximum temperatures of 66°C in an ambient temperature of 21°C when the incineration is operating at full capacity.

Refractory: Refractory will likely be #super responsibility # and heat-resistant into a minimum of 1100°C at the principal room and 1250°C in the secondary room. Refractory are also abrasion resistant in the prlmary room, built of plastic or castable type refractory, designed to prevent bulging and destruction due to heat stress, capable of supporting more than double the hourly burning rate and preventing leakage of fluids, and also with a minimum depth of 11O mm for walls and hearths

1.     Be approved as the main combustion zone.

Primary and secondary burners: Separate electrically spark-ignited primary burners and secondary burners with automatic control shall be used to attain the designated temperature requirements in the main and secondary chambers. The flames  of the primary and secondary burners won’t impinge on the incineration walls or floor.
2.     Be equipped with a burner/s burning gas/fuel or low sulphur liquid fuels.
2.     Be fitted with secondary burner/s burning gas or low sulphur liquid fuel or some other appropriate fuel.

3.     Ensure secondary air distribution is controlled economically.

4.     Ensure flame contact with all gases is attained.

5.     Ensure residence time is not less than two (two ) minutes.
Other combustion methods will be judged on merits.

3.     Ensure main air distribution is controlled economically

Ensure minimum exit temperature is not less than 850oC

Air supply: Air distribution in the main and secondary room should be regulated between 30%-80% and 170%- 120% of stoichiometric level respectively. Suitable flow measurement devices shall be provided on the main and secondary air ducting. The combustion air shall be provided through a separate forced draft fan following accounting for the air provided through burners. The secondary combustion chamber needs to:

1.     Be approved as secondary combustion zone.
6.     Verify the gas temperature as measured against the inside wall at the secondary room & not at the flame zone, is not less than 1100oC.

7.     Verify the oxygen content of the emitted gases is not less than 11%.
